St. Francis Healthcare gives tuition aid to 26
 
St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii, through its Marian Constance Medeiros Tuition Assistance Fund, has awarded scholarships totaling $13,000 to 26 dependents of St. Francis employees. Students in grades kindergarten through graduate school received $500 each.

The scholarship recipients were:

  • Abigail Andres, daughter of Marcia Andres of St. Francis Hospice, at St. Francis School
  • Anabel Andres, daughter of Marcia Andres, St. Theresa School
  • Tammy Bergau, daughter of Ruth Bergau of St. Francis Healthcare System Administration, Utah Valley State College
  • Jacob Correa, Jesse Correa and Joseph Correa, sons of Jerry Correa of St. Francis Healthcare System Administration, St. Louis School
  • Aaron Domingo, son of Trish Walsh-Domingo of St. Francis Home Care Services, Honolulu Community College
  • Jessica Domingo, daughter of Trish Walsh-Domingo, University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law
  • Rachel Domingo, daughter of Trish Walsh-Domingo, University of Hawaii-Manoa
  • Marisa Doran, daughter of Patricia Doran of St. Francis Home Care Services, University of Hawaii-Manoa
  • Michael Ann Fellezs, daughter of Gilman-Paul Fellezs of St. Francis Healthcare System’s Facility Services, Windward Community College
  • Carly Hirano, daughter of Debbie Hirano of St. Francis Healthcare System Administration, Waolani Judd Nazarene School
  • Chloe Kaahanui, daughter of Gisele Kaahanui of St. Francis Healthcare Foundation, St. Theresa School
  • Karis Moi-Simeona, daughter of Gisele Kaahanui, Santa Monica College
  • Kyndall Moi Simeona, daughter of Gisele Kaahanui, Kamehameha Schools
  • Jason Katayama, son of Joni Katayama of St. Francis Healthcare System’s Finance department, Hongwanji Mission School
  • Jasmine Lin-Wo, daughter of David Wo of St. Francis Hospice, Maryknoll School
  • Christopher Lum, son of Theresa Lum of St. Francis Hospice, University of Portland
  • Stephanie Lum, daughter of Theresa Lum, Iolani School
  • Michelle Maitland, daughter of Doris Maitland of St. Francis Home Care Services, Holy Family Catholic Academy
  • William Marquez-Wong, son of Felicia Marquez-Wong of St. Francis Hospice, University of Hawaii-Manoa
  • Travis Namohala, son of Randy Namohala of St. Francis Healthcare System’s Facility Services, Kamehameha Schools
  • Kristina Ramilo, daughter of Angelita Fermin of St. Francis Hospice, University of Hawaii-Manoa
  • Bo Ronduen, son of Angelita Ronduen of St. Francis Home Care Services, Creighton University
  • Seth Simon, son of Gary Simon of St. Francis Hospice, Punahou School
  • Aaron Suzuka, son of Corinne Suzuka of St. Francis Home Care Services, Vassar College.

The Marian Constance Medeiros Tuition Assistance Fund was established in 1999 in memory of Marian Medeiros who left a generous trust fund to St. Francis because of her admiration for the Franciscan Sisters and the former School of Nursing. Scholarships go to children of employees.
